Electoral Reformation Committee Finalized list of members Committee on Selecting Election Commissions

Officials at Electoral Reformation committee has finalized the list of members of a committee who will select individuals for both Election commissions.

They have said,”based on the agreement made no Governmental officials will have its influence on selecting any individuals for Independent Election Commission IEC or Election Complain Commission ECC,”

Meanwhile civil society activists have warned if those created crisis in the past periods of Elections in the country don’t get executed, Afghans will not trust on Election system again for casting their votes.

The following committee who will begin its activities soon whom were selected and their names are as below:

1-    One member from Watch Dog Election Institutions

2-    One member from Women rights advocacy.

3-    One member from media society.

4-    One member from civil services.

5-    One member from Supreme court.

6-    One member from senior membership of Election Commissions.

7-    One member from implementation Constitution department.

The above mentioned persons will select members for both Election commissions and provide the list to the President of Afghanistan for further reviewing.

Deputy of the Electoral Reformation Committee Sediqullah Tauhidi said,” we have agreed on finalizing the members who will select members for both commissions and provide it to the president, our efforts will also prevent the Government not to have influence on selections of members for both commissions.”

The pervious presidential Election has been full of frauds the perpetrators should executed before the people beginning trust on Afghanistan’s Election system.

Head of the Afghanistan Transparent Watch Jandad Ispinghar said,” the perpetrators of the previous presidential Elections should be executed,before the Afghans beginning trust on the system.”

Earlier Electoral Reformation Committee members have visited 8 zones receiving Nations views on more transparency and further reformation of the Election system in Afghanistan.
