EU Declares Parliamentary Election Serious Need for Afghanistan
Meanwhile officials at Chief Executive Office said the new commissioners list has been finalized and sill they will start officials work.
European Union representative for Afghanistan Michael Mellbinsaid, “Well this has been a long standing issue there is a really need to clarify the road towards Election, We have seen some progress for the last weeks, and that makes me a lot more optimistic that we are actually seeing the move ahead, the President was clear at Brussels conference saying that this would be focus when he came back from Brussels, We seen the first effort, I remain optimistic that those promises will be fulfilled, than we will have more clarity, which first most of cost Afghan people would like to have since there isn’t extra constitutional situation, now having that moving forward, we also channel political energy in positive way, and strengthen the possibility to achieve results in this country.”
Chief executive office insisted on execution of those who are accused for doing fraud in the past Presidential Election, saying there are works remain to be done, and the final list of the new commissioners has been finalized.
Chief Executive Deputy Spokesman Jawid Faisal said, “Interview process with new commissioners ended, the list will be finalized this week, and new commissioners will start working soon.”
Meanwhile Election watchdogs criticize the process saying Government leaders are placing their own people in Election commissions.
“There is no doubt President and Chief executive is willing to appoint their own people in Election commissions, no one else can be the new commissioners unless he/she should come from one of the two parties.” Chairman of the Free-fair Election of Afghanistan Naim Ayubzada said.
Holding of the parliamentary Election was one of the National Unity Government commitments let’s wait and see who will be appointed as new commissioners for the Election commissions.
