Karzai urges probe into Russia’s allegations

President Hamid Karzai has said he would carry out investigation into Russia’s allegations on training of Syrian rebels in Afghanistan.

Recently, the foreign minister of Russia claimed the Syrian anti-government oppositions and rebels received training on chemical weapons by some foreign countries in the restive areas of Afghanistan.

Sergey Lavrov had said, “Reports indicate that a third country has illegally trained the Syrian militants in the areas out of the control of Kabul to fight against the Syrian regime, and especially use of chemical weapons.”

President Karzai, however, has described the issue very important, urging on investigations in this respect.

“This issue is very important to us and to the stability of our country. The government of Afghanistan will take serious actions in this regard and will also have some questions from its international allies that are stationed here in Afghanistan for the fight against terrorism,” President Karzai declared.

According to experts, the opened borders of Afghanistan have occasionally created problems for this country.

Enter of foreign rebels in Afghanistan, drug trafficking out of this country and smuggling of explosives and alcoholic beverages have been the major problems due to opened borders.
