Farah’s Sheb Koh District Governor Killed in Roadside Mine

A roadside mine killed the Governor of Sheb Koh district in western Farah province along with his son and three bodyguards, official said Wednesday.

The Provincial Police Chief’s Spokesman, Gulbahar Mujahid said the incident took place on Tuesday night in Dorjoi area of the district when Abdul Rahim Haidari along with the district CID official, Agha Jan were on their way to oversee the checkpoints.

Mujahid added that the vehicle in which the officials were passengers was destroyed by the roadside mine, killing everyone inside the vehicle.

According to Mujahid, the mine was planted by the Taliban.

The Taliban did not immediately comment regarding the report.
