Floods Kill Five, Injure Over 20 in Badakhshan

At least five people have been killed and more than 20 wounded in floods in northern Badakhshan province of Afghanistan, officials said Tuesday.

 The Provincial Deputy Governor, Gul Mohammad Bedar said the floods took place in Shaki, Nasi and Kofab districts of the province that destroyed more than 20 residential houses.

According to Bedar, eight people were missing as result of three-day long floods in the province.

Local officials said the effected people were being received food, clothes and medical support through  the helicopters in the region.

 It comes as at least 60 people were reportedly killed and 100 more were missing in the floods in northern Baghlan province.
