Former NDS Chief Nabil Recent Statement False: Chakhansuri

Officials from the Afghanistan Presidential Palace dispute Former NDS chief Rahmatullah Nabil’s statement that President Ghani’s ‘interference,’ has caused problems for the Nation.

Former National Directorate Security Chief Rahmatullah Nabil, during interview with media, accused President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani of interfering in all Governmental affairs. Mr. Nabil stated that President Ghani’s “interference,” has caused serious problems for Afghanistan.

Presidential Spokesman Mohammad Haron Chakhansuri said, “The recent statement of the former NDS chief Rahmatullah Nabil is false away from the truth and with personal hostility.”

Mr. Chakhansuri stated, “President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has big plans for all the sectors of his Government, all the departments are working with close coordination.” 

He also said that President is seeking ways to de-politicize the security departments.

Former NDS Chief Rahmatullah Nabil resigned shortly after issuing an unusual statement, criticizing Pakistan for supporting anti-government elements in Afghanistan. Mr. Nabil also criticized President Ghani for his approach.
