At least four members of one family were killed in Ghor province on Thursday morning in a roadside bomb explosion, local officials said.

Zalmay Karimi, spokesman for the governor of Ghor, said the incident took place in the village of Kharistan close to Firozkoh, the provincial capital.

No group, including the Taliban, has claimed responsibility for the blast.

On Wednesday, another four civilians were killed in a roadside explosion in the village of Barakhana, also close to Firozkoh.

While on Monday, three civilians attempting to cross from Ghor to Herat were shot dead by gunmen in the Band-e-Bain area on the Ghor-Herat highway.

The governor of Ghor says the civilians were shot by the Taliban, but the Taliban has not yet commented.
