Ghani-Abdullah Favoritism in Dealing with Corrupt Officials Unveiled
“The government leadership is dealing with these people with considerations, because they don’t want to lose the vote banks. As a result, these people are continuing the infractions,” Fakhri said during a live television debate on Ariana News.
In addition, he said that his office has investigated 19 governmental institutions, including the defense and interior ministries where he has found a lot of huge corruption cases but the government is paying less attention.
“Beside the defense and interior ministers, we have investigated corruption cases within other institutions where we have found huge cases, but this process cannot be selective. The investigations must be completed,” Fakhri added.
At the same time, Sayed Ikram Afzali Executive Director of Integrity Watch Afghanistan (IWA) – a Kabul-based group that aims to spotlight corruption – claims that corrupt people are existed in all governmental institutions including the presidential palace and the chief executive office.
The governmental spokesmen have denied to make a comment about these remarks.
