President Ashraf Ghani on Tuesday said that the imposed war on Afghanistan is in interest of all regional countries and there must be a consensus in the region for resolving it.

While presenting the first National Action Plan on United Nations Security Council Resolution for women, security and peace, President Ghani said that no one will gain victory with the fall of Afghanistan.

The Afghan government finally edited the National Action Plan for strengthening women’s role, peace and security after years of efforts to align with UN Security Council Resolution.

“The war had been imposed on the Afghans and Afghanistan would not collapse as a country.” President Ghani said. “No one should gamble that God forbid Afghanistan will collapse”.

He noted that the future of Afghanistan is dependent on cooperation from the regional countries, adding that fundamental change is impossible without assistance of the neighbors.

“We protect Afghanistan for 5 thousand years and we will sacrifices for another 5 thousand years for protecting it,” Ghani added.

Meanwhile, the ministry of foreign affairs has also stressed on implementing the National Action Plan.

“Now according to the National Action Plan, clearer measures will be taken in the next 8 months and a report will be prepared regarding it,” Salahuddin Rabani, minister of foreign said.

The National Action Plan has been developed on four pillars; increasing women’s participation in the peace process and security, protecting women from types of threats, preventing violence and improving the economy and the health of women.
