Ghani Inaugurates Construction Work on South-North Road in Bamyan

President Ashraf Ghani inaugurated the construction work of Yakawlang-Dar-e Suf road, length 187 km in central Bamyan province.

During the opening ceremony of the project, President Ghani emphasized that the economic level of central provinces will grow with the completion of this project.

President Ghani said, “the Chinese company has implemented projects more than 16 million dollars and we took its commitment to complete the project with a high quality and on time.”

He called the Bamyan province animated heart of Afghanistan and stressed on improvement of living situation in the province.

The Ministry of Public Works and a Chinese construction company signed the contract of Yakawlang-Dar-e Suf road in December last year.

The project costs 213,8 million dollars which will be paid by the Asian Development Bank and will be complete in three and a half years.

The second vice president also called the project an East-West corridor, saying this route will increase trade and transit in the country.

Second vice president, Sarwar Danish said, “the poverty line is more than the war line in our community. The politicians should understand this issue and should be united.”

The governor of Bamyan province urged for transition of power line through the province beside the construction of this road.

Thousand of Bamyan inhabitants were present at the site and welcomed  President Ghani.
