Afghan President Ashraf Ghani on Saturday invited Pakistani Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi to visit Kabul.

Ghani extended the invitation during a meeting with visiting Pakistani delegation led by Pakistan’s National Security Adviser Nasser Khan Janjua in Kabul.

“Today, I received Pakistani NSA at Dilkusha palace. As a follow up to Kabul process, I have extended an official invitation to Pakistani Prime Minister to visit Afghanistan. This is to initiate state to state comprehensive dialogue,” Ghani tweeted.

According to a statement by the Presidential Palace, the two sides discussed Afghanistan peace proposal to the Taliban and starting a comprehensive dialogue between Kabul and Islamabad.

They also discussed the importance of connection and regional cooperation, criminal economy and ways to fight against terrorist networks.

The visit of Pakistani delegation comes three weeks after President Ghani made a peace offer to the Taliban and talks with Pakistan during an international conference in Kabul.
