President Ashraf Ghani held “consultative” meeting with some political and Jihadi leaders on Thursday to discuss ‘Kabul Process’ conference which will be held next week.

The Presidential Palace in a statement said that at the meeting the president has listened to the views of the participants regarding the upcoming Kabul Process meeting.

“I assured them that their advices and views, especially about peace process, will be reflected and included in the PR of Kabul conference. The series of consultative meetings will continue with people from all walks of life,” the statement said.

The Afghan capital Kabul will host the second meeting of Kabul Process on February 28 in which representatives of 25 countries – including Pakistan – and three organizations are expected to participate.

The meeting will discuss Afghanistan’s peace plan and the U.S.-Afghan counter-terrorism efforts in the war-torn country.

The Kabul conference is being managed with the initiative and leadership of the Afghan government, something that differs this process from its preceding processes. Its first meeting was held eight month ago with the participation of the representatives of 23 countries and several international organizations.
