Ghani, Modi Stressed in Fight Against Terrorism

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a telephone call to President Ashraf Ghani expressed deep condolences and strongly condemned the recent terrorist attacks in Afghanistan.

“Prime Minsiter Modi called me to offer condolences on the recent senseless killings of civilians by the enemies of humanity,” President tweeted.

Modi also discussed the need for an end to terrorist sanctuaries in “neighboring country”, an apparent reference to Pakistan, and said India had always been a “good friend of Afghans, sharing our pain and grief”.

He also offered medical helps for the victims who were injured during the terrorist attacks.

President Ghani also thanked Modi for his support and appreciated “India’s real and honest efforts and cooperation with Afghanistan.

This comes as a high-level Afghan delegation comprising the country’s interior minister and the chief of National Directorate of Security (NDS) visited Pakistan today to hold talks on bilateral cooperation.

Reports suggest that the Afghan team will present documentary evidence and phone tap information linking individuals and groups based in Pakistan with the Kabul attacks.
