Ghani orders investigation on ghost police forces in Helmand

Afghanistan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has ordered an investigation over the accusation on the former police commander for Helmand Province Abdul Rahman Sarjang about the ghost police forces.

Officials in Ministry of Interior Affairs have urged that the following issue will be pursed within the justice and judicial departments over the ghost police forces.

War has been continued in war ravaged Helmand province, but half of the Afghan security forces declared as ghost one, in the recent statement of the new police chief for Helmand about have of the existed forces are ghost police forces in Helmand province ensuring security, and all the benefits of those ghost forces was used to go to the Helmand former police officials.

Ministry of Interior Affairs Spokesman Sediq Sediqee said,” based on the order came from the President of Afghanistan, all the accusations over the former police chief of Helmand province Abdul Rahman Sarjang is being reviewed, and later all the information will be shared with the departments of justice and judicial of Afghanistan.”
