During the opening ceremony of National Program of Covenant on Civil, President Ghani has promised to fulfill his commitments he announced during his electoral campaigns.

President Ghani says Afghanistan receives the international community’s attention and the enemies of Afghanistan will be more in isolation.

Ghani considered the Brussels summit very essential for Afghanistan and said to bring radical reforms after the end of this summit.

“Afghanistan receives the attention of international community, now we must unite and work as successive,” said President Ghani.

In the meantime, the Chief Executive Officer, CEO, Abdullah Abdullah emphasizes that the international community will be more committed in its cooperation with Afghanistan than the government expects.

“Preparations were taken for the Brussels summit and the commitments will be far from Afghanistan’s expectation,” said CEO.

CEO noted that the National Unity Government will continue its task for five years; He believes that beside the challenges, the government had many achievements too.

He also considered the concerns about signing peace deal with Hekmatyar unwarranted.

“Join of Hezb-e Islami to peace process was an important step. Freedom is  not something in our pockets that we can sacrifices it for peace,” CEO added.

On 5 October, the European Union and the government of Afghanistan will co-host the Brussels Conference on Afghanistan.

This conference will gather up to 70 countries and 30 international organizations and agencies. It will provide a platform for the government of Afghanistan to set out its vision and track record on reform.

For the international community, it will be the opportunity to signal sustained political and financial support to Afghan peace, state-building and development.
