President Ashraf Ghani warned on Thursday that there would be no mercy against the enemies of Afghanistan.

The Afghan president was speaking at a memorial ceremony for the Ministry of Mines staff killed in a recent bombing in Kabul. He emphasized that the perpetrators of the incident would be captured very soon.

“The Afghan forces will find out the culprits for this tragedy. Be sure that there is no mercy for the enemies of Afghanistan,” Ghani said.

The victims’ families also urged the President to punish those who were responsible for the attack.

“The enemies of the country and people must be identified and they must be punished to death in accordance with the law,” Khadim Hussain Rahimi, a victim’s family member insisted.

The Minister of Mine and Petroleum, Nargis Nehan, promised to provide a job opportunity for one member of each victim’s family.

The Taliban group claimed responsibility for targeting the bus carrying employees of the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum that left at least 31 people dead and dozens of others injured.
