The house of representative and government should not bring any changes in election law before holding the upcoming election, head of independent election commission (IEC) said.

Ahmad Yousof Nuristani, head of independent election commission said that he has presented a written proposal to President Ghani about the date of holding election.

The independent election commission harshly reacted against government and Wolesi Jirga’s effort for modifying the electoral law.

Nuristani stressed that any illegal action to bring reform is unacceptable.

Yousof Nuristani is said to consider Wolesi Jirga’s action for modifying electoral law and the creation of a commission by president Ghani and the chief of executive officer, Abdullah to bring reforms in electoral system unacceptable.

It is scheduled that President Ghani soon to share his advice with IEC about holding the upcoming election.

“We have not enough money and have not the support of government for holding the Parliament’s election in the next year” Nuristani added.

He also criticized civil institutions monitoring from election process, while months have been passed since presidential and provincial council election controversy.

Head of independent election commission also accused the media outlets of making people mistrust.

On the other side, Nuristani is optimistic that he will also manage the upcoming election but expressed concern over fraud and irregularities in the upcoming election.
