OIC to Review Afghanistan’s Condition: Abdullah

Afghan Government has called up on Saudi Arabia to hold session for further reviewing of the Afghanistan’s condition which was granted by the Saudi Arabia officials Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah said.

Chief Executive Officer, (CEO) Abdullah Abdullah says that the Saudi government has accepted the demand and a conference will be held with participation of Saudi and Afghan scholars in the near future.

“By the initiative of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, a conference will be held in Saudi Arabia and all of Afghanistan demands will be discussed,” CEO said.

CEO has also noted about Saudi’s preparations on Afghan peace process.

Abdullah Abdullah emphasized that the government would not do anything without informing the High Peace Council and there were no progress in peace process after the deal with Gulbuddin Hekmatyar.

“Afghanistan has declared its intention but it is not clear when and where the negotiations will be take place,” CEO added.

President Obama during the U.S. presidential campaign–have said Saudi intervention could shape the success of the Western-led mission, from fostering talk with militants to encouraging Pakistan to help stabilize Afghanistan.

But some analysts say Saudi brokering is motivated by more than just a desire to bring peace to Afghanistan.
