Government seeks to monopolize the authorities of Parliament, therefore reacts against the legal decisions of the National Assembly, Afghan lawmakers said.

Parliament representatives have declared that the summoning process of ministers was carried out based on legal authorities of the Parliament and the government is obliged to introduce the new minister nominees.

“The government wants to have the authorities of the National Assembly in hands, but the decisions have been made based on law and there must not be any interventions,” said Fakuri Beheshti, representative of Bamyan.

Ghulam Hussain Naseri, representative of Wardak said, “The summoning process was carried out based on law and accepted rules and no one has the right to interfere the process.”

After summoning Afghan ministers to the Lower House of Parliament, the government showed reaction and entrusted the issue to the Supreme Court, but the lawmakers stress that there is no doubt that the Supreme Court addresses the process.

Meanwhile, a number of other representatives emphasized that due to the differences of government leaders, the ministers’ administrative works faced many challenges.

“Most of the ministries have divided into parts and everyone links themselves to a separate faction that caused the governance faces many challenges,” said Ghulam Sakhi Mashwani, representative of Kunar.

Parliament’s first deputy speaker has noted that no one has the right to interfere in legal decisions of the parliament.

“We are not at odds with the government and all decisions were made based on law and Parliament’s authorities. This issue is clear,” said Zahir Qadir, first deputy speaker of parliament.

The lower house parliament has included the security agreement of Kabul-Washington to its agenda, but it postponed due to the incompleteness of International Relation Commission’s report.
