Government should come up with an innovative plan for regional cooperation as India reportedly rejected Pakistan offer of Talks on Transit Trade to Kabul, said Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce & Industries (ACCI) Sunday.

“The government of Afghanistan should have an innovative plan for regional cooperation. The plan should be presented to the United Nations and World Trade Organization should pay special heed in regard,” said Azerakhsh Hafizi, the Head of ACCI International Relations Committee.

A day after Indian media reported that New Delhi rejected offer of talks on transit trade made by Pakistani Chief of Army Staff General QamarJaved Bajwa when he met President Ashraf Ghani on October 1 in Kabul.

It comes as Pakistan has consistently refused to allow any Indian goods to travel into Afghanistan, insisting that India use the sea-route via Karachi. Exasperated by Pakistan’s refusal to allow truck trade, recently President Ashraf Ghani has issued a decree, cancelling permission for Pakistani trucks to transit through Afghanistan.
