Halt the diabetes epidemic in Afghanistan

Officials in Ministry of public health have stated that the number of persons plugged with diabetes disease is increasing day by day in Afghanistan.

Dr. Qamaruddin Sediqee advisor of Ministry of public health during a session has said,” in past six months 3567 persons affected with diabetes have lost their life in Afghanistan.”

Halt the diabetes epidemic a program which was held by the cooperation of officials in Ministry of public health in Kabul city to spread the words of diabetes for the Afghans through their program.

Officials in diabetes federation have expressed their concerns over the increasing

Diabetes Federation  forecasts  that by 2040 over 640 million of us may be living with diabetes in the world.

World Diabetes Day is the primary global awareness campaign of the diabetes world and is held on November 14 each year. It was introduced in 1991 by the International Diabetes Federation and the World Health Organization in response to the alarming rise of diabetes around the world. World Diabetes Day is a campaign that features a new theme chosen by the International Diabetes Federation each year to address issues facing the global diabetes community. While the campaigns last the whole year, the day itself marks the birthday of Frederick Banting who, along with Charles Best and John James Rickard Macleod, first conceived the idea which led to the discovery of insulin in 1922.

Dr. Sediqee further mentioned that in 2012 we have had 849 ill diabetes but the number was increased into 3567 persons, who have lost their life.

According to the estimation released the diabetes ill persons was 30 million in the world, on 2010 the number increased up to 287 million and in 2015 the number increased up to 387 persons.

According to officials in Ministry of public health there are necessary measurements are underway to tackle this disease in Afghanistan,they have also entitled the solutions for such disease is to increase the number of diabetes centers for further checkups, raising public awareness, and launching workshops.
