Herat airport to Torghundi port railway survey contract signed: Balegh

Officials in Ministry of public interests have reported that Herat airport to Torghundi port railway survey contract was signed in between the Ministry of Public interests and a Canadian company.

Minister of Public interests Mahmood Balegh stated that the length of the railway would 200 kilo meters and it will cost $ 1,600,000 million which will connect Herat airport to Torghundi port of Herat province.

The amount of the money will be paid by the Asian Development Bank.

Mr. Balegh said,” if we want to boost the economy of Afghanistan we need to invest on railways, roads, We are planning to establish 55,000 kilo meters of railways in the entire country.”

Afghan Government has decided to establish railways in the entire country to connect neighboring countries with Afghanistan, earlier a railway agreement was signed to connect China to Afghanistan, Kirghizstan, Tajikistan and to Iran.
