Car Bomb Blast in Kabul Leaves At least 24 Dead

At least 24 people were in a car bomb blast in capital Kabul on Monday morning, the Interior Ministry said. 

The blast happened at about 6:50 am local time in Kabul’s PD3, near Deputy Chief Executive Mohammad Mohaqiq’s house and a private university in Kabul City. 

The Interior Ministry’s Acting Spokesman, Najib Danish said at least 42 more were injured in the blast.

 According to the Interior Ministry, three vehicles and 15 shops were damaged in the explosion.

A bus owned by one of the government ministries had been destroyed in the incident, Danish added. 

President Ashraf Ghani and Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah condemned the attack. Ghani said that the attack on civilians proves weaknesses of the terrorist groups. 

The Taliban has claimed responsibility for the attack, saying the group targeted a bus carrying staff of intelligence unit in the City.
