IEA seizes millions in different currencies from former ‘corrupt’ officials

Da Afghanistan Bank, the central bank of Afghanistan, said Sunday that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) has seized millions of Afghanis, US dollars, and Euros in cash from a number of corrupt former government officials.

IEA officials said they had so far seized 86.1 million AFN, $15.9 million, 7,450 Euros, 30,350 Pakistani Rupees, and 300 UAE Dirhams – from a number of former “corrupt” officials in Panjshir, Khost, Kabul, and Logar provinces.

According to the Bank, the money was handed over to the treasury of the Da Afghanistan Bank.
