The Independent Election Commission (IEC) will use a new technology in the upcoming parliamentary and provincial council elections to bring transparency.

Officials in IEC are said to believe that using this new technology will prevent fraud and irregularities in the election process.

“IEC is seeking to use a new technology that helps in brining transparency to election process,” said Imam Muhammad Warimach, IEC head of secretariat.

However, the electoral observing and monitoring institutions say holding elections without reforms is a big political mistake.

“The election issue is still scattered, the government still cannot make the fate parliamentary elections clear,” said Yousuf Rashid, chairman of FEFA.

Previously, the government demanded IEC to announce the date of parliamentary election, but the commission refused to announce the date due to using a new technology in the election process.
