IEC Praises Media Contribution To Elections
The media commission of Independent Election Commission (IEC) awarded certificates of appreciation to Ariana News reporters and many other private media companies for contributing to the recent Presidential and Provincial elections.
According to IEC officials, the media provided outstanding report from electoral process and helped encourage people to go for polls.
IEC head Ahmad Yousuf Nuristani on Wednesday appreciated media contribution to elections, saying the media played vital role in making the electoral process successful.
Out of nearly one thousand print and broadcast media, only 71 state and private media companies were accredited by the election commission.
The prolonged Presidential and Provincial Council elections, which were completed in a period of more than six months, were covered day/night live by Ariana News with professional reporters from all over the country.
