The Independent Election Commission (IEC) has warned Presidential contenders not to bring up tribal issues during their campaigning or else they could face disqualification.

IEC officials have also reported that all essential and sensitive materials for the upcoming election have begun to be distributed at the district level since Saturday.

IEC spokesman, Noor Mohammad Noor said, “Campaigners should observe and respect existing laws and not provoke the people by discussing tribal issues.”

He also said that according to security reports, no new polling centers would be added to the list of polling stations used during the first round of election.

The IEC has also promised to continue to raise public awareness about the importance of participating in the Election.
