Afghanistan Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD) says the implementation of 36 development projects will be started in 17 provinces of the country in the near future.

The projects include; construction of retaining walls, canals, fillet, roads, bridges and culverts that will be implemented in 17 provinces, officials of MRRD said.

“With the implementation of these projects, nearly 1,4 million working days will be created that 2,4 million Afghans will be benefited from these projects,” said Naser Ahmad Durani, minister of MRRD.

The cost of these projects is 202 million Afghanis which will be paid by the Asian Development Bank.

Praising the launch of such projects, members of rural development council urged the government to implement more projects in vulnerable areas.

“We call on government to allocate more projects to Kapisa province. One project is not enough for the people,” said Shafiullah, chairman of Rural Development Council.

“The development balance in Chahar Aseyab district has not been considered compared to the other districts,” said Muhammad Naeem, chairman of Chahar Aseyab Development Council.

Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development implements dozens of various projects in the framework of the Convention on the Citizenship program, but there are criticisms over the insufficiency of these projects.
