Iranian, Pakistanis Among Daesh Militants Arrested in Nangarhar

11 Daesh militants including Pakistani and Iranian nationals have been arrested by Afghan security forces in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan, police said on Monday.

Speaking to reporters, Gen. Abdul Rahman Rahimi, the police chief of Nangarhar said,” In addition to the deceived Afghans or those who are the servant of aliens, Pakistani and Iranian nationals are also among the 11 arrested Daesh militants.”

Mohammad Yasir who was detained by Afghan forces confessed,” I’m from the West Azerbaijan province of Iran, I was deceived through a Telegram. I joined the Daesh group, first I went to Nimruz province and then I went to Kabul and I spent two nights in a hotel in Kabul and then from Kabul I went to Chaparhar district” of Nangarhar province.

Fakhruddin, a Pakistani, regrets having joined Daesh and fighting against the Afghan forces.

“I was living in Pakistan. A cruel man named Abdul Rahman deceived us and brought us here. I regret because when I saw the Afghan army I become very happy,” Fakhruddin said.

Nangarhar police chief said that Daesh is trying to extend its activities in east of Afghanistan, but we have busted their activities.

According to the police official, Afghan forces have conducted 27 counter-terrorism operations during the last three weeks in which at least 214 militants were killed and 61 others were injured.

Gen. Rahimi added that 84 suspects were also detained and 43 weapons of different types along with thousands of bullets and eight vehicles were also seized during the operations.
