Islamic Emirate invited to UN Doha meeting on Afghanistan

The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) has been invited to a meeting that the United Nations is convening with special envoys on Afghanistan from various countries in Doha next month, Deputy Prime Minister Abdul Kabir said on Thursday.

In his meeting with Norwegian chargé d’affaires for Afghanistan, Abdul Kabir said that the Islamic Emirate is not against the education of girls, adding that a committee set up by the supreme leader is working in this regard.

According to a statement released by Arg, Norwegian chargé d’affaires for Afghanistan Paul Klouman Bekken said that his country has allocated $3 million to combat natural disasters in Afghanistan and will provide $7 million for returning refugees.

He emphasized that Norway wants to maintain relations with Afghanistan and supports development in the country.

Bekken stated that despite the current crises in the world, the world has not forgotten Afghanistan and a meeting on Afghanistan will be held in Doha on February 18.

Abdul Kabir called on Norway and other European countries to reopen their embassies in Kabul.

He also reiterated that TTP does not have presence in Afghanistan and Daesh has been suppressed.
