Istalif Among Paghman Convicts Executed In Kabul
All 5 death row inmates charged with Paghman incident and Habib Istalef, a most wanted criminal, have been executed in Kabul, officials said.
The announcement was made by an official of Hajj and Religious Affairs Ministry who was quoted as saying, “We welcome the execution of perpetrators f Paghman incident.”
However, the execution is not yet confirmed by a responsible government institution.
Five of seven alleged people were detained and then awarded death penalty after they were found guilty in robbery and rape of a number of women about two months ago in Paghman district of Kabul.
Mafia head Habib Istalef, who was also among the death row inmates, is also said to be hanged to death.
The executions were signed by President Hamid Karzai during his last week of Presidential term.
