Japan’s deputy special envoy meets with Stanekzai

Misako Takahashi, the Deputy Special Representative of Japan for Afghanistan, called on IEA Deputy Foreign Minister for political affairs Sher Muhammad Abbas Stanekzai.

Takahashi underscored a range of political issues, including the assistance of Japan in health, education, irrigation and agriculture sectors.

She also said that Japan is interested in investing in Afghanistan by taking advantage of the current opportunities.

Later, expressing gratitude for Japan’s assistance and cooperation, Stanekzai said that Afghanistan is enriched with natural resources, raw materials and mines.

He also said there was security in the country and all countries including Japan need to invest in Afghanistan without waiting for official recognition.

In the end, both sides stressed the need to continue holding meetings for mutual understanding.
