Kabul 7th District Police Chief Arrested for Bribery

Kabul 7th precinct Police Chief Colonel Khairuddin Sayaid was arrested for taking 50,000 Afghani as bribe.

Ministry of Interior Affairs Spokesman Sediq Sediqee confirmed his detention, saying he was arrested while he was receiving 50,000 Afghani as bribe, and now he is in custody.

Earlier several officials had been arrested over corruption charges and referred to the judicial organs.

The arrest comes after the Afghan government showed serious attention to step up efforts to root out corruption from the government institutions.

Recently, an Attorney General Official said that the government had zero tolerance to corruption and also committed to counter corruption and disorders.
