Kabul Municipality Takes New Measures For City Clean Up
The citizens of Kabul have been complaining and suffering from the piles of solid waste in different parts of the city; however, Kabul Municipality authorities say based on the new plan they will fine and prosecute those people who are being careless of dealing with waste in the city.
“We have a plan to fine those individuals who are being reluctant of observing the cleanliness of the city and refer them to Attorney General,” said Ahmad Behzad Ghiasi, Head of Kabul Municipality Cleanliness Department.
Some residents, meanwhile, welcomed the recent move taken by the government. “You see I have a pile of waste in my hand and I am throwing in its set up place in order to avoid pollution from our city,” said Mahram, a Kabul resident.
This comes as, according to Health Ministry, the piles of solid waste in Kabul are a major source of diseases, air pollution and environmental problems.
