Kabul Police Detain Paghman Incident Perpetrators
Kabul Police have detained suspects accused of looting and sexually assaulting female participants of a wedding in Paghman district of Kabul.
Chief of Kabul Police, General Zahir Zahir, said Sunday the suspects had been involved in many criminal cases.
He stated these criminals had been detained several times but were later released by powerful people.
“This time we have strong documents against these criminals, they should not be released, they should be punished, hanged as soon as possible, we want the President Karzai to order their execution so it should be a lesson to others,” said General Zahir in a press conference.
Last week, a group of armed men stopped a car and looted jewelries of some women who were returning from a wedding party.
According to reports, these women were also sexually abused.
President Karzai has strongly condemned the incident and has asked the interior ministry to conduct a serious investigation.
