Kabul Police Identify Sources of Air Pollution, Promise Action To Improve Air Quality

Kabul Police said that they have identified sixty-two locations in Kabul which are significant contributors of pollutants. These sources of air pollution will be penalized.

Kabul police identified locations like bathrooms, swimming pools, factories, and residential blocks which are said to be the main causes of air pollution in Kabul. The police said fines will levied against these sources of air pollution.

Kabul has the worst air pollution in the world. The polluted air is the source of severe health and environmental issues. Kabul’s polluted air causes illness in residents, and it can affect other species, including birds ad other animals. President Ghani has warned about the problem of Kabul’s air quality and he stressed that solutions must be found for this problem.

According to the Kabul Police, the usage of substandard fuels is a major source of air pollution in the city.

“Most of the merchants in Kabul import less quality fuel which should be fought with,” said Sayed Mohammad Roshan Del, Kabul police chief.
