MCIT Revenue Grows 8 Percent in First Six Months of Current Year

The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (MCIT) says the revenue increased by eight percent in the first six months of the current year.

Officials in MCIT called the reason for increase of revenue, expanding postal services and enhancing the working capacity of this ministry in the provinces.

“We had $ 240 million income last year, and this year it is predicted that the communication sector will have $ 245 million income for the government,” said Yaseen Samim, spokesman of MCIT.

In the meantime, economic analysts say a regular framework is needed to use the obtained income and the social welfare go long.

“There would be nothing, if a regular framework not created for the spending and exact programs,” Muhammad Shabir Bashire, economic analyst said.

It has been said that nearly 80 percent of the residence of the country have access to the communication services.

According to MCIT officials, the lack of security is the serious challenge for monitoring the communication policies.
