Media’s role in providing security, intensifying insecurity

The Media Outlets in the country can play role in providing security and intensifying insecurity, said editor of 8 Sobh Newspaper.

Shah Hussain Murtazawi, editor of 8 Sobh Newspaper declared that media outlets must work under the rules and reject any violation of law by their supporters.

Media has a vital role in democratic countries. Its role and its influence have been so much tremendous that now it is considered as one of the pillars of the state.

It is believed that in modern democracy, media keeps an eye on legislature, judiciary and executive and at the same time scrutinizes their policies and their undertakings.

“Media outlets in Afghanistan which support by parties and other countries have always worked for the interest of their supporters,” Shah Hussain Murtazawi said.

Apart from scrutinizing the government media has an imperative role in developing public opinion and at the same time providing timely information and knowledge. Today’s modernized media has the capacity to reach the people 24 hours and provide them information in real time.

This comes as that the media outlets in the country had a remarkable growth in the past 13 years.
