Militants Related to Taliban’s Quetta Shura Arrested in Kandahar

Afghan intelligence operatives have arrested a group of militants related to Quetta Shura in southern Afghanistan.

A statement released by the National Directorate of Security (NSD) on Sunday said,” during an operation, the NDS special forces have arrested a group of six Taliban terrorists who were busy in destructive and terroristic activities in Maiwand, Zhari and Mianshin districts of Kandahar province.”

The individuals were identified as Suliman also known as Haidari, Dad Mawla, Khwast, Yar Mohammad, Obaidullah and Ainuddin who are all residence of Kandahar.

According to the statement, the group was taking their instructions from the Quetta Shura based in Pakistan.

“The individuals had received terroristic and military trainings in Ishaq Abad area of Quetta city and were involved in a number of terroristic attacks in Kandahar province locality,” the statement added.

Quetta Shura is a militant organization which is composed of the Taliban leaders and is believed to be based within the city of Quetta in the Baluchistan province of Pakistan.
