Millions of AFN Lost As Fruit Market Catches Fire in Kabul

Dozens of shops were gutted after a huge fire swept through a fruit market in the vicinity of the 4th police district in Kabul city.

The shopkeepers said the cause of fire was the charge of electricity and more than eleven shops faced financial losses.

Some of the shopkeepers complain over the delay of firefighters, saying the lack of equipments caused the spread of more fires.

One of the affected shopkeepers, Farid said a huge quantity of valuable goods had been reduced to ashes, resulting in heavy losses.

Kabul Police said firefighters managed to extinguish the fire and their investigations have been started.
