Afghanistan Ministry of Defense (MoD) has announced widespread operations against the armed oppositions of the government and other terrorist groups; citing 2016 will be the defeat year for the armed oppositions of the government.

The spokesman of MoD says Afghan forces have launched 16 operations in 13 provinces of the country which includes night and they will suppress the enemies with their air, discovery and intelligence facilities.

“There is no way except suppressing the oppositions who support by Haqqani network, Lashkar-e Taiba and are not Afghans,” Dawlat Waziri, spokesman of MoD said.

This comes as the Taliban  has recently declared the start of their fighting season, vowing to take control of more territory and launch large-scale attacks against the Kabul government and its foreign allies, including the U.S.

The start of the fighting season follows a year of faltering efforts to restart direct peace talks between the Taliban and the National Unity Government.

Fighting between the Afghan government and the Taliban is now in its 15th year, and the violence shows no sign of abating.
