MoE Suffers Shortage of Professional Teachers, Educational Materials

Ministry of Education (MoE) is suffering from shortage of professional teachers and educational materials, second vice president said.

The second vice-president, Sarwar Danish during the ceremony of ringing the school’s bell called the existence of corruption in MoE contracts, ghost schools, insecurity and squandered of money the main challenges for the educational system in the country.

“The lack progress in educational system is insecurity that Taliban is the main factor for this issue, but we have preparations to solve the insecurity problem,” said Sarwar Danish, second vice president.

Danish further added, “The existence of corruption in the ministry’s contracts, lack of teachers and squandered of money and the ghost teachers and students are the other challenges.”

Meanwhile, the acting minister of education has also announced about the fair and balance programs, saying currently, more than 9 million students have been absorbed.

“We have practical plans in hands and will absorb more than 1 million students in the current year that 43 percent of it are females,” said Asadullah Hanifi, acting minister of education.

The Afghan government announced about the re-evaluation of all education programs and the implementation of necessary reforms in educational institutions; Adding the educational system of the country will achieve the development goals in collaboration with United Nations till 2030.
