MRRD signs 70 public projects with village councils

Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD) has signed 70 public utility projects with village councils in the fields of water management, construction of roads and providing clean drinking water on Saturday.

The minister of rural rehabilitation and development says these projects are very effective for agriculture growth in the country.

“Agriculture grows by itself, if we have water and constructed roads,” Nasir Ahmad Durani, minister of rural rehabilitation and development said.

Durani also emphasized that the employment fields will be provided with implementation of these projects.

“The total cost of these projects are 423 million Afg. More than 231 thousand people will benifit from these projects and more than 122 working days to be created.” Durani added.

The cost of these projects will be paid by Asian Development Bank, Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Finance.

The projects in management of water was said to be 47 that will be implemented in Kabul, Baghlan, Badakhkshan, Balkh, Ghor, Logar, Bamyan, Takhar, Kunduz, Nangarhar and Samangan province.

The other 23 projects in construction of roads and providing clean drinking water will be implemented in Paghman and Bagrami districts of Kabul, Arghandab district of Kandahar and Jawzjan, Kunar, Nangarhar, Daikundi, Balkh.
