Municipal Revenues of Key Provinces Increased: IDLG

Afghanistan Independent Directorate of Local Governance (IDLG) says the municipality revenues of some provinces of the country have increased compared to the previous years.

According to IDLG report, the municipality revenues of Nangarhar, Balkh, Kandahar and Lashkargah has a sharp increase in the current year.

The Local Organs noted that commitment on fighting the corruption is the main factor of their success and they have been encouraged by President Ghani.

“Our municipality revenues has 22 percent increased. The increase shows our commitment against fighting corruption,” said Munira Yousuf Zada, spokesman of Local Organs.

According to IDLG report, the municipality revenues of Nangarhar, Balkh, Kandahar and Lashkargah has a sharp increase in the current year.

“We see an increase in Nangarhar, Balkh, Kandahar and Lashkargah revenues. President Ghani encouraged them all,” Yousuf Zada added.

It has been said that the income and revenue centers often become fragmented in various robberies and only tiny amount flows to the government treasury.
