The Transparent Election Foundation of Afghanistan (TEFA) says the “national council” is the biggest obstacle against election in the country.

TEFA declares the government and International Community do not have a strong will and specified plan for holding the National Council election.

Head of TEFA, Muhammad Naeem Ayoub Zada said, “the biggest obstacle is the current parliament. Holding election would be impossible until the current parliament continues working.”

Ayoub Zada added, “the government is delaying to hold the election and this delay creates a bewilderment. The International Community does not have enough pressures.”

Head of TEFA believes insecurity, corruption, lack of a true picture from holding the election and unhealthy competitions are the other reasons for the delay of upcoming elections.

This comes as the secretary of the Lower House of Parliament says holding the elections are the authorities of government and election commissions and the National Council does not have legal authority in holding the elections.
