NATO Agrees to Put More Pressures on Pakistan to Take Action Against Terror Groups

The NATO alliance members have agreed to exert more pressures on Pakistan to take actions against terrorist groups in its soil, said the Afghan Ministry of Defense (MoD).

“Pakistan should not support terrorist groups and send them to Afghanistan. If they do not take action against terrorist groups, there would be no option for the United States except targeting terrorist centers. As previously, the U.S. killed Mullah Mansour and Osama Benladan,” the spokesman of MoD, Dawlat Waziri said.

Afghanistan believes only decisive actions against Pakistan could reduce the flames of ongoing violence in the country.

In addition, the Alliance defense ministers during their two-day visit in Brussels have promised to support Afghan forces through air in their fight against insurgent groups, according to Waziri.

“NATO is supporting the Afghan Air Forces. They will carry out attacks when we give them targets,” Waziri added.

On Thursday, NATO announced that it will increase its Afghanistan training mission by some 3,000 troops in the coming year.

The Afghan defense ministry says the new troops will provide training, assistance and advice to the Afghan commando forces, border police and Afghan national civil order police which are newly merged with the Afghan army.
