NATO Won’t Let Afghanistan become ‘Safe Haven’ for Terrorists Again: Stoltenberg
Stoltenberg who was speaking in a joint press conference with the President of the Republic of Estonia, Kersti Kaljulaid, thanked her country for their contribution to the NATO mission in Afghanistan.
According to Stoltenberg, the alliance has asked all of its members to contribute more to the global fight against terrorism.
“We do that when it comes to Afghanistan and NATO is now increasing our presence in Afghanistan,” NATO Chief said.
Stoltenberg believes that “the best weapon” against the terrorism in Afghanistan is to train Afghan forces and help them stabilize their own country.
Earlier on November, NATO announced that the alliance defense ministers are expected to decide to increase the number of troops in Afghanistan from the current 13,000 to 16,000 to help the government in Kabul in its fight against the Taliban and other insurgent groups.
