NDS arrests 3 Haqqani Network members in Logar

Afghan intelligence agency has arrested three Haqqani Network terrorists in southeastern Logar province of Afghanistan.

The National Directorate of Security (NDS) – Afghanistan’s spy agency said in a statement on Monday that it has arrested three terrorists belong to Haqqani Network,  involved in anti-government activities, planning ambushes, and planting roadside bombs during a special operation in Sara Ghonda area village of Khoshi district in Logar.

According to the statement a number of weapons and ammunitions including two AK47s, 8 AK47 magazines, 2 communication systems were also seized from the terrorists.

“The detained terrorists named as Ahmadzai son of Afghan, Muhammad Omar son of Afghan, and Salam Jan son of Sayed Padeshah,” all has confessed to the crimes they have committed, the statement added.

Meanwhile; another cache of weapons and ammunition belong to a Taliban commander in the district were also seized during a separate operation, the statement read.

Logar is among the volatile provinces in southeastern part of Afghanistan, where a large number of Taliban militants are actively operating in a number of its districts including Khoshi district.
