NDS arrests 4 Taliban weapons suppliers in Kunduz
The National Directorate of Security (NDS) – Afghanistan’s intelligence agency has arrested two weapons suppliers with other two terrorists, working for armed opposition groups in northern Kunduz province of Afghanistan.
According to a statement released by NDS, 2 weapons suppliers and 2 aide terrorists got arrested during a clearing operation in Kunduz province of Afghanistan.
NDS says one of the weapons suppliers is from Tajikistan and a member of the Tajik Islamic Movement.
The militants loyal to Taliban group was involved in destructive and terror activities such as planting mines and targeting Afghan forces, the statement added.
A number of ammunition, guns and a car was also seized from the militants during the operation.
Taliban has not made a comment yet.
Kunduz is among the volatile provinces in northeastern Afghanistan where anti-government armed-militant groups are actively operating in a number of its districts and was fallen to the hand of Taliban on September 2015 which was the biggest ever victory of the group since U.S. invasion of Afghanistan.
