NDS arrests suicide attacker in Southern Afghanistan

The National Directorate of Security (NDS) – Afghanistan’s intelligence agency has thwarted a suicide plan on Helmand police headquarter, NDS statement read on Sunday.

According to a statement released by Afghan intelligence, a suicide attacker named Mohammad Musa who was trained by Taliban to perform suicide and terror attacks was arrested in southern Helmand province of Afghanistan while he was trying to enter provincial police HQ.

Explosive devices were placed inside a military helmet, the statement read.

The man has confessed during investigations that he has performed an attack over a police ranger and was involved in two assassination attacks, added the statement.

Helmand is among the volatile districts in southern Afghanistan where the armed-insurgents are actively operating in a number of its districts and usually performs suicide and gun attacks.
